With the aim of becoming a world class regulator, Head of Guyana’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Kemraj Parsram says funds are being deployed to leverage technology as well as upskill its talent pool. During his appearance on the Energy Perspectives Podcast, Parsram shared key details of this strategic plan with CEO of the Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo, Kiana Wilburg. The EPA Head noted that his agency utilizes NASA’s satellite to monitor any incident of flaring as well as MAXAR technology to have a bird’s eye view of any spill. Parsram also explained how the permitting process for the oil sector has been advanced by leaps and bounds, ensuring for example, that Guyana is at no time saddled with any oil spill liabilities.
