Guyana’s booming economy presents many opportunities for the local private sector to join hands and capitalise on the opportunities available. Director of the Vreed-en-Hoop Shore Base Inc. (VEHSI) Nicholas Deygoo-Boyer is one person who is sure of this. The VESHI project he is involved in is one of the largest and most impressive private sector ventures right now, and an entire artificial island is being built to facilitate this undertaking. Though opportunities are abound, it hasn’t been smooth sailing. Deygoo-Boyer has intimate knowledge of the work the private sector has put in to reap some of the benefits they are enjoying today.
