Privacy Policy
At IECEG we respect your privacy. We want to ensure that you get the information, content, and experiences that matter most to you. IECEG is committed to protecting the privacy of its members, customers, volunteers, and other contacts.
Scope
This privacy policy applies to all personal data processed by full-time and part-time employees, volunteers when acting on behalf of IECEG, contractors and partners doing business on behalf of IECEG, as well as all legal entities, all operating locations in all countries, and all business processes conducted by IECEG.
What information do we collect?
IECEG collects the following personal data in line with the use purposes explained in a subsequent section:

- Date of birth
- Online profile data/usage
- Copies of identification documents
- Education and professional information
- Communication information including IECEG Online Support and Secretariat communications
- Purchasing and payment information
- Registration and participation in IECEG events and activities
- Subscription preferences
- Information about the device(s) you use

How do we use your information?
IECEG uses (and, where specified, shares) your personal information for the following purposes:
To process transactions: IECEG uses personal information such as name, physical address, telephone number, email address, and company/institution to engage in interactions with you, including contacting you about your order, donation, subscription, event participation, or membership. We use financial/credit card and payment information to process your order and may need to share some of this information with delivery services, credit card clearing houses, and other third parties to complete the transaction.
To provide support or other services IECEG may use your personal information to provide you with support or other services that you have ordered or requested. IECEG may also use your personal information to respond directly to your requests for information, including registrations for newsletters, webinars, or other specific requests.
To provide information based on your needs and respond to your requests: IECEG may use your personal information to provide you with notices of new updates related to the conference.
To select content, improve quality, and facilitate use of the websites: IECEG may use your personal information, including the information gathered as a result of site navigation and electronic protocols and cookies (including third-party cookies), to help create and personalize website content, improve website quality, track marketing campaign responsiveness, evaluate page response rates, conduct usability testing, and facilitate your use of the websites (for example, to facilitate navigation and the login process, avoid duplicate data entry, enhance security, keep track of shopping cart additions, and preserve order information between sessions).
To serve personalized advertising to you: We don’t share your information with advertisers without your consent. We allow advertisers to choose the characteristics of users who will see their advertisements, and we may use any of the non-personally-identifiable attributes we have collected to select the appropriate audience for those advertisements. When you click on or otherwise interact with an advertisement, there is a possibility that the advertiser may place a cookie in your browser and that your attributes meet the criteria the advertiser selected.
To communicate with you about a meeting, conference, or event: We may communicate with you about a meeting, conference, or event hosted or co-sponsored by IECEG or one of our business associates. This may include information about the event’s content, event logistics, payment, updates, and additional information related to the event. Information you provide when registering for or participating in a conference managed or co-sponsored by parties, other than or in addition to IECEG may be shared with those parties, and the treatment of such information is further subject to the privacy policies of those parties. IECEG and its conference co-sponsors may contact you after the event about the event, subsequent iterations of the event and related events. Please note that IECEG conference, meeting or event organizers, co-sponsors, exhibitors, and other third parties may directly request your personal information at their conference booths or presentations. Providing your information to them is optional, and you should review their privacy policies to address your particular needs and concerns about how they will treat your personal information.
To protect IECEG content and services We may use your information to prevent potentially illegal activities and to enforce our terms and conditions. We also use a variety of technological systems to detect and address anomalous activity and to screen content to prevent abuse, such as spam. These efforts may, on occasion, result in a temporary or permanent suspension or termination of some functions for some users.
To get feedback or input from you: In order to deliver products and services of most interest to our customers, from time to time, we may ask members, customers, volunteers, and website visitors to provide us input and feedback (for example through surveys.
How will you know if the Privacy Policy is changed?
IECEG may update its Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by email if you have an IECEG Account, or by means of a notice on this website prior to the change becoming effective. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.
Technical and Regulatory Information
Logging practices
As well as recording the IP addresses of users, IECEG may also keep track of sites that users visited immediately prior to visiting IECEG’s website and the search terms they used to find it. We keep track of the pages visited on IECEG’s website, the amount of time spent on those pages and the types of searches done on them. Your searches remain confidential and anonymous. IECEG uses this information only for statistical purposes to find out which pages users find most useful and to improve the website.
IECEG also captures and stores information that you transmit. This may include:
- Browser/Device type/version
- Operating system used
- Media Access Control (MAC) address
- Date and time of the server request
- Volume of data transferred
Cookies
Cookies are electronic placeholders that are placed on your device by websites to track your individual movements on that website over time. Please refer to our cookies policy for additional information.
Unforeseen circumstances / Force Majeure Event
The IECEG will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform or delay in performance of, any of IECEG obligations under a Contract that is caused any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control. This includes, strikes, lock-outs, and any industrial action trikes, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war; fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster; impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport; impossibility of the use of public or private telecommunications networks; and/or the acts, decrees, legislation, regulations or restrictions of any government. IECEG’s performance under any Contract is deemed to be suspended for the period that the Force Majeure Event continues, and IECEG will have an extension of time for performance for the duration of that period. IECEG will use reasonable endeavours to bring the Force Majeure Event to a close or to find a solution by which its obligations under the Contract may be performed despite the Force Majeure Event.
Safety Regulations
You are prohibited and restricted from performing any activity that is considered illegal under applicable laws; objects which are considered as flammable and dangerous items or substances; the use of profane, vulgar, offensive or derogatory language, pictures, gestures and other possessions; gambling, stealing or fraudulent activities; interfering or attempting to interfere and/or damage any third party, exhibitor, supplier or Expo 2023 assets, equipment, vegetation, cultural sites or other areas within the exposition site; violating security measures and/or control measures, including attempting to gain entry to areas that you have not been granted access to; and restricting or blocking areas that compromise safety, including stairs, steps, passages, accessible areas or exits.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests of attendance at any level of participation will require the registrant to notify the Conference Secretariat on or before January 27th, 2023, to receive the full refunds. Please email [email protected] with your request.
All Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected] to be processed within 14 business days. After January 27th 2023, no refunds will be provided or processed.
Hotel Cancellation:
Cancellation policies differ by hotel. Please check the cancellation policies of your specific hotel.
Liability
The IECEG and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary or consequential damages, however caused, under theory of liability, whether in contract, strict liability or tort (including negligence or otherwise) arising in connection with or out of access to or use of the platform or any content or services, even if IECEG and its service providers have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
COVID-19 Waiver
I am fully aware of the ongoing and evolving COVID-19 pandemic that has been declared by the World Health Organization. I understand that the coronavirus and any permutations are spread mainly through face-to-face contact. I am verifying that I have received the COVID-19 vaccine and I am submitting proof of record that I have received the full dosages of the COVID-19 vaccine. In such case, I am voluntarily registering to participate in the International Energy Conference and Expo Guyana 2023 (the “Event”).
I understand and agree to follow all instructions, guidelines and rules set in place by the Event and Guyana’s National COVID-19 Task Force, including practicing social distancing and wear face masks. I understand that the Event cannot guarantee that I will not contract COVID-19 and any other related viruses. I declare that I will only attend the Event if I am not experiencing or exhibiting any COVID-19 related symptoms as outlined by Guyana’s Ministry of Health, such as fever, dry cough or shortness of breath. In addition, I understand that I may be removed from the event or the property of the venue should I exhibit any behaviour in direct contrast to the COVID-19 protocols and other safety measures implemented.
By signing this waiver, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge and hold harmless the Event from all claims of any kind arising out of COVID-19 and any other related viruses. I understand and agree that the waiver includes any claims towards any employee of the Event, any of the suppliers, support team, exhibitors, sponsors and other participating in the event whether a COVID-19 infection or any other related viruses exists before, during or after attendance and participation at the Event or the premise. I agree not to commence or prosecute any action in connection herewith outside or within the courts of the Republic of Guyana.
