Dr. Paulette Bynoe

Deputy Dean, University of Guyana School for Graduate Studies and Research

Dr. Paulette Bynoe is the Deputy Dean, School of Graduate Studies and Research, University of Guyana and has more than 20 years of professional accomplishment as an inter-disciplinary trained Environmental Scientist. She teaches post-graduate courses and conducts research related to environmental management, community based disaster risk management, environmental impact assessment, sustainable land management, environmental research methods, and environmental resources policy. Apart from academic position, Dr. Bynoe currently serves as a member of the Guyana Steering Committee on the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility project, Co-Chair of the Caribbean Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) Education Sub-Sector Committee, a member of the Peer Review Network for Disaster Risk Reduction, (The UWI, Mona Campus), Convenor of the Caribbean Examination Council Advanced Subject Panel on Green Engineering, and more recently, Guyana’s Lead Climate Change Negotiator for the UNFCCC. Dr. Bynoe has been awarded the Golden Arrow of Achievement for her contribution to environmental education and training, research, and the development of policies on natural resource management.
