Appointed President of National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago in 2013, Dr. Vernon Paltoo has worked on the strategic planning, development, construction, operation and management of Energy Related Projects and Industrial Infrastructure Assets for more than twenty-eight years.

In the past decade, his portfolio has expanded to include the transition of the energy industry in Trinidad and Tobago towards a sustainable and lower carbon future, as well as advancing regional energy development and integration.

This includes natural gas processing, renewable energy and green hydrogen production. His areas of expertise include industrial planning and development, engineering design, energy economics and project economics.

Dr. Paltoo holds a B.Sc. in Chemical and Process Engineering and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, both from The University of the West Indies.
