Theodore Kahn is Director of Control Risks’ Global Risk Analysis practice for the Andean region, Guyana, and Suriname. In this role, he leads a team of analysts in delivering strategic advice, business intelligence, and tailored consulting projects on political, security, regulatory, and economic developments across various sectors, including energy, mining, infrastructure, financial services, technology, health, and manufacturing.
Theodore has broad work experience in Latin America and the Caribbean spanning the private sector, multilateral organizations and academia. Before joining Control Risks, he was a researcher at Fedesarrollo in Bogotá, the leading think tank in Latin America and a consultant for the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank in the region.
Theodore holds a master’s degree and PhD in international relations from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Harvard University. His academic research on international trade and economic development in Latin America and the Caribbean has been published in journals such as Review of International Political Economy and Latin America Research Review as well as Brookings Institution Press and Palgrave Macmillan.
